Wow, we just returned from the amazing US Norwex conference, and I am overflowing with…
Lysere Hair Care Collection – Less chemical lather AND free!
For many years, I did not pay a lot of attention to shampoo. My purchase was more influenced by how it smelled than by what the ingredients were actually doing to or for my hair (and health). I washed my hair on a regular basis and called it good. It never looked bad, so I just carried on. I did not stop to think about what ingredients were in my shampoo to give it that “nice” smell, or the great soapy lather. But since starting Norwex, I’ve become serious about looking for safe ingredients that will leave my hair looking and feeling healthy. The Norwex Lysere Hair Care Collection allows me confidence in the clean formula.
As I delved more into healthy living, I came to realize that maybe I should pay more attention to what is in my shampoo and what I am putting on my hair. Our skin is our largest organ and is VERY absorbent. What unknown am I “consuming” through my ignorance? I realized the number of chemicals used in traditional shampoos and conditioners were HUGE and not so good for me and my family. I also learned that even more important than what is IN a shampoo is what is NOT in it. But I was nervous whether the Lysere Hair Care would work for me.
Finally, I took the plunge. I held my breath as I put the Lysere Nourishing Hair Care Collection into my basket last year and hit “buy.” I did it, now I just needed to see if it was worth it.
This is what I learned.
It is FREE…..but not in the way you are thinking…
Less is more.
Upside down is better.
Now, what does that all mean to you? Let me explain…..
These products are FREE of all the “no-no-list” ingredients….truly. Norwex follows strict guidelines of what they do NOT put into their products. These formulas were so clean and healthy, that I was worried it would not work. I was wrong.
For a product that is vegan-free, gluten-free, paraben-free, formaldehyde-free, synthetic dye-free, synthetic fragrance-free – it blew my mind.
Yet, what IS in it is also key! These are rich in hair enriching ingredients like the plant-based Nordic Antioxidant team of Juniper, Sea Buckthorn and Red Algae – it goes to work on the hair and scalp. It nourishes and moisturizes all at the same time.
After using the shampoo and conditioner, I would highly recommend this product. I have friends with straight hair who love it, and I have found it works well for my curls, too. I also realized that you do not need a full soapy lather to clean your hair! I always thought the more bubbles – the better – but I’ve learned that some of the chemicals that create the endless lather are part of the problem!
TIP from my hair stylist: If you want more lather, simply wash once, not using a huge amount of shampoo (a little goes a long way!). Then RINSE out, and add another small amount of shampoo. On the second wash, you’ll notice far more lather.
Less is more… truly. I know the cost is higher than the average grocery store shampoo, but you need so much less. I have cut my usage down to very little per wash. I only use about the size of a penny of each shampoo and conditioner. It lathers well and covers my whole head. I also find that now that my head is used to the product, I can go longer between washes. I used to wash daily and now can go about 3 days…so less is more.
Finally – upside down is better….I find that if I flip the bottles upside down to store on their lids, it is easier to get the product out. I don’t like shaking bottles like crazy, so this is just a little tip. The top is quite wide, so you don’t need to worry about it tipping over.
Now, let’s chat quickly about the Lysere Hair Protecting Spray
and the Lysere Deep Conditioner & Mask.
Again, not being a huge hair person, I was not really aware of what to expect with either of these, but I am glad I tried them. The Protecting Spray is something that I try to use daily. I am not great at remembering but I do my best. The Protecting Spray is like sunscreen for your head and hair…I know that sounds weird – but is true. It helps protect your hair from all outside pollutants, UV rays, and heat damage from blow drying, sunshine, etc. It is a great product to use, and it will help keep your hair hydrated and make it shine like the empire state building….well…maybe not that much…but it does help make it shine.
The Lysere Deep Conditioner & Mask is great if your hair needs a little pick-me-up. If you already have healthy hair – you will not need this product very often. After one use, I found that my hair had more moisture in it, and was much softer to touch. I only use this once every couple of weeks, so gauge your usage on what is best for you.
You can leave this on for a bit under a shower cap (or the Norwex Hair Wrap, which is one of my ABSOLUTE FAVORITES for a future post!), before rinsing it out. It will provide a much deeper condition and is especially helpful if your hair tends toward being dry. A little goes a long way. Focus this just on your ENDS, not on the roots. This is where the deep conditioning is most needed (another super helpful tip from my fabulous hair stylist).
I hope this review is helpful. Give it a try! I would love to hear your thoughts and experience! Share in the comments!
