There are certain cleaning products that make me wonder why no one thought of them sooner. The new Norwex All-in-1 Bathroom Cleaner Concentrate is one of those products.

Bathrooms are a little different from the other rooms in our homes. In the kitchen, we are usually dealing with food, grease and crumbs. But, in the bathroom, we may be dealing with all of that wonderful combination of:

Each box contains three packets of concentrate, and each packet contains 1 fluid ounce, or 30 milliliters, and makes one full 16-ounce bottle of ready-to-use Bathroom Cleaner. It can be purchased in a bundle with the Forever Spray Bottle for a slight cost savings, as well.

To mix the Bathroom Cleaner concentrate, you simply:

1. Fill the Norwex Forever Bottle (or other ~16 fluid ounce spray bottle) mostly wth WATER. (I add the water FIRST and then add the packet last to avoid any sudsing)
2. Pour one complete packet into the 16-ounce Norwex Forever Bottle with Sprayer.
3. Gently swish the bottle to combine the ingredients.
4. If using to fill the Norwex Cleaner-Dispensing Toilet Brush, then just pour the diluted cleaner into the toilet brush handle.

My First Impressions of the New Bathroom Cleaner Formula

What first caught my attention was not simply that Norwex had introduced another cleaner. It was the fact that this one appears to fill a very practical gap.

Norwex microfiber and water can handle an extraordinary amount of everyday cleaning. A damp Bathroom Ultrascrub Cloth, EnviroCloth or Bathroom Scrub Mitt can pick up loose dirt, toothpaste, hair, dust bacteria, and many common bathroom messes beautifully… with just water!

But water alone cannot always dissolve mineral deposits. That is where a thoughtfully formulated bathroom cleaner becomes super important. The new All-in-1 Bathroom Cleaner is designed for the things that need a little more than mechanical wiping:

• The film that builds up around a sink drain
• Water spots around the base of a faucet
• The ring that begins forming inside the toilet
• Soap scum on shower walls
• Mineral buildup along the bottom of a glass shower door
• The cloudy finish hard water can leave on bathroom fixtures

I also love that Norwex has made the dilution process simple. Concentrated products are generally more economical to ship and store, and they reduce the need to purchase another disposable spray bottle every time the cleaner runs out. But concentrates can sometimes be confusing. People may use too much product, too little product or simply avoid mixing it because they do not remember the ratio.

What Ingredients Are in the Norwex All-in-1 Bathroom Cleaner?

The complete ingredient list published for the new Bathroom Cleaner is:

That may look like a collection of scientific names, so let’s translate what those ingredients are doing.

Water

Water serves as the base and carrier for the concentrated formula.

Once the packet is mixed into the 16-ounce Forever Bottle, the additional water dilutes the concentrate to the appropriate strength for normal bathroom use.

Decyl glucoside

Decyl glucoside is a surfactant.

Surfactants help water spread more easily over a surface and loosen oily soil, body oils and grime so they can be lifted and rinsed or wiped away.

Decyl glucoside is commonly derived from plant-based raw materials such as glucose and fatty alcohols.

Citric acid

Citric acid helps break down mineral deposits, hard-water residue and soap scum.

It is also commonly used to adjust a product’s pH and support descaling action.

This is one of the ingredients that allows the Bathroom Cleaner to do more than an ordinary soap-based or general-purpose spray.

Sulfamic acid

What Is Not in the New Bathroom Cleaner?

For many families, what has been left out of a bathroom cleaner is nearly as important as what has been put into it.

According to Norwex, the new formula is made without:

• Chlorine bleach
• Ammonia
• Phosphates
• Phthalates
• Parabens
• EDTA
• SLS or SLES
• Fillers
• Formaldehyde donors
• Optical brighteners
• Synthetic dyes
• Synthetic fragrances

It is also formulated without harsh artificial fragrances or colorants.

This does not mean the undiluted concentrate should be treated casually. It is still a concentrated acidic cleaning product, and the package directions and cautions should always be followed.

However, it does mean we can clean a shower, tub or toilet without automatically filling the bathroom with the overpowering bleach, ammonia or artificial-perfume smell associated with many conventional bathroom cleaners.

That is especially valuable in a smaller bathroom where ventilation may be limited.

What Does “EWG Verified” Bathroom Cleaner Mean?

The EWG Verified® mark is different from receiving an ordinary letter grade in EWG’s Guide to Healthy Cleaning.

What Does 94% USDA Certified Biobased Mean?

The new Norwex All-in-One Bathroom Cleaner is also USDA Certified 94% Biobased.

A biobased product contains ingredients derived wholly or significantly from renewable biological sources rather than relying entirely on petroleum-based raw materials.

The 94% figure refers to the product’s verified biobased content under the USDA BioPreferred Program. It does not mean the cleaner is 94% organic, and it is not the same thing as a food or agricultural organic certification.

What it does mean is that a substantial portion of the formula’s carbon content comes from renewable biological sources. For consumers trying to reduce reliance on conventional petrochemical-based products, this is a meaningful distinction.

Is the Norwex Bathroom Cleaner Fragrance-Free?

The new formula contains no harsh artificial fragrances and no synthetic fragrance. Early users have described the scent as very light or neutral rather than perfume-like. One detailed review noted the absence of an overwhelming fragrance or chemical cloud during use.

That does not necessarily mean every person will perceive absolutely no scent. Cleaning ingredients can have their own natural or raw-material odor even when no fragrance has been added. How to Mix the Norwex Bathroom Cleaner Correctly

The cleaner must be diluted before ordinary use.

You will need:

• One packet of All-in-1 Bathroom Cleaner Concentrate
• One 16-ounce Norwex Forever Bottle with Sprayer
• Water

Directions:

1. Open the Forever Bottle.
2. Slowly fill the bottle with water about 1 inch from the top of the 16 oz spray bottle (love the Norwex Forever Spray Bottles for this!)
3. Squeeze in the entire packet of Bathroom Cleaner Concentrate into the bottle.
4. Leave enough space to replace the sprayer without overflowing.
5. Attach the sprayer securely.
6. Gently swish the bottle to mix.

Avoid vigorously shaking the bottle. Because the formula contains surfactants, aggressive shaking can create unnecessary foam.

I would also label the bottle clearly, especially if you own several identical Forever Bottles. (Have a friend with a Cricket – maybe pay them a bit to make some Forever Bottle Labels! I had these done: Bathroom Cleaner, Odor Eliminator, Stain Remover, Dishwashing Soap, Water, Degreaser, etc– they look so pretty, too!)

Do not divide the packet by eye unless you are following a specific official direction. The simplest and most reliable method is to use the complete packet in one 16-ounce bottle.

Where Can You Use the Norwex Bathroom Cleaner?

The new Bathroom Cleaner can be used on most washable hard surfaces commonly found in a bathroom.

Official product information lists it as suitable for surfaces including:

• Ceramic
• Porcelain
• Chrome
• Acrylic
• Glass
• Plastic
• River-rock floor tile

It is intended for shower stalls, tubs, basins, toilets and most other hard bathroom surfaces. Norwex says to “use caution on brass, marble, granite and surfaces with specialty coatings.” As with all cleaners, we always teach to try it on a small, inconspicuous area first as surfaces can vary widely in quality, etc.

Bathroom sinks and basins

Use it Norwex Bathroom Cleaner Concentrate diluted to loosen:

• Toothpaste
• Soap residue
• Body oils
• Water spots
• Light mineral buildup
• Grime around the drain

Spray the sink, scrub or wipe as needed, rinse and wipe clean.

For light daily residue, a damp Bathroom Cloth may be all you need. When the sink develops visible soap film or mineral residue, the Bathroom Cleaner gives you additional cleaning power.

Faucets and chrome fixtures

The cleaner can help loosen hard-water spots and residue around:

• Faucet handles
• Faucet bases
• Sink stoppers
• Shower controls
• Chrome trim

Spray, allow the cleaner a little time to work if needed, wipe or gently scrub, rinse thoroughly and dry.

Drying the surface after cleaning is an important step in hard-water areas. It helps prevent new droplets from evaporating and leaving another mineral spot behind.

Bathtubs

Use it for:

• Soap scum
• Bathtub rings
• Body oils
• Dirt
• Light to moderate hard-water residue

This is an excellent place to pair the cleaner with the Norwex Bathroom Scrub Mitt.

Because acrylic can scratch, pair the cleaner with a non-scratching cleaning tool and avoid aggressive pressure until you know how the surface responds.

Ceramic and porcelain tile

The Bathroom Cleaner can be used on ceramic and porcelain tile to address:

Be more cautious around specialty grout, sealants and decorative coatings. When in doubt, test a small hidden area first.

Glass shower doors tend to collect a combination of:

Spray the glass, allow the cleaner time to loosen the buildup, scrub if needed, rinse thoroughly and dry or polish the glass.

For the final step, I would use a Norwex Window Cloth on clean, damp glass to remove moisture and help create a polished, streak-free finish.

The cleaner is doing the descaling and soap-scum work. The Window Cloth provides the beautiful final polish.

Shower tracks and door rails

These areas collect standing water, soap residue, hair and mineral deposits.

Spray the cleaner into the track, allow it to work, scrub with an appropriate small brush and rinse or wipe away the loosened debris.

Avoid allowing dirty cleaning solution to sit in the track after scrubbing. Remove it completely so the residue does not simply dry back onto the surface.

Showerheads

The Bathroom Cleaner may be used for regular exterior maintenance on compatible showerhead finishes.

Spray the affected area, allow it to loosen visible water spots, gently wipe or scrub and rinse well.

For heavily clogged spray openings or thick internal mineral buildup, a deeper descaling process may still be necessary.

Always check the manufacturer’s instructions before using an acidic cleaner on specialty metal finishes.

Toilets

The cleaner can be used both inside the bowl and on compatible exterior surfaces. It can be sprayed into the toilet bowl and then used with a standard toilet brush OR used IN the Cleaner-Dispensing Norwex Toilet Brush (which I’ll cover more)- your preference. We always have a Forever Bottle of it on the back of the toilet to spray when a toilet particularly needs some “attention”.

For the inside of the toilet:

1. Thoroughly spray the inside of the bowl.
2. Allow the cleaner to work for three to five minutes.
3. Scrub the bowl.
4. Flush.

For the outside of the toilet and the seat, use appropriate Norwex microfiber and maintain separate cloth sides or separate cloths to avoid risk of transfer.

Around the base of the toilet

This area may collect dust, splashes and urine residue. Remove loose hair and dust first. Then spray the area, wipe thoroughly and rinse the microfiber as needed. Saving the toilet and surrounding floor area for last can help prevent moving toilet-area residue to cleaner parts of the bathroom. River-rock shower floors

River-rock floor tile is specifically listed among the compatible surfaces.

Because these floors are highly textured and contain many grout lines, the Bathroom Cleaner and scrubby side of the Bathroom Scrub Mitt can be a useful combination.

Pay attention to the type and condition of the grout and sealer, and test first if the floor has a specialty coating.

Plastic bathroom surfaces

The cleaner may be used on compatible plastic surfaces, including many plastic tub surrounds and bathroom accessories. Again, because plastics and coatings vary, always test a small area before broad use—particularly on colored, aged or specialty-finished plastic.

Surfaces Where You Should Not Use Norwex Bathroom Cleaner

The Norwex All-in-1 Bathroom Cleaner is not recommended for natural stone or specialty coatings. That warning matters because the formula contains acids designed to dissolve mineral buildup… which is essentially what natural stone is. Mineral buildup.

Those same acids may etch, dull or otherwise affect acid-sensitive surfaces.

Do not use it on natural stone such as:

• Marble
• Travertine
• Limestone
• Onyx
• Some natural terrazzo
• Other calcium-based stone

Acids can react with the calcium carbonate in these materials and permanently change the finish.

Again, use caution with:

• Specialty-coated fixtures
• Refinished bathtubs
• Antique or unlacquered metals
• Brass
• Copper
• Specialty-finish faucets
• Painted surfaces
• Unsealed grout
• Manufacturer-treated shower glass

Even when the underlying material is normally compatible, the coating may not be.

Always check the manufacturer’s care instructions and test the cleaner in a small, inconspicuous area when you are uncertain.

Can It Replace Norwex Descaler?

For routine cleaning and light-to-moderate mineral buildup, the All-in-1 Bathroom Cleaner may reduce how often you need a separate descaling product.

However, I would not automatically assume that it replaces Norwex Descaler in every situation.

Think of the products this way:

• Light-to-moderate mineral buildup
• Keeping restored surfaces clean
• Cleaning and descaling in one step

Norwex Descaler

Best for:

• Thick limescale
• Long-standing calcium buildup
• Heavily scaled fixtures
• Restoration-style cleaning
• Severe hard-water deposits
• Areas that have not been maintained regularly

One experienced reviewer who tested the new cleaner for several weeks reached a similar conclusion: the All-in-1 formula performed well for maintenance and moderate buildup, while significant, long-term scale could still require Norwex Descaler. And at the Eckel Ranch, one of the shower doors looked beyond redemption (so cloudy I wasn’t certain it was ever clear glass) when we purchased the house, and I was AMAZED that Descaler and the Norwex Bathroom Scrub Mitt were able to get it looking like new!

In other words:

Descaler can help you rescue a badly scaled surface. The All-in-1 Bathroom Cleaner can help keep it from getting that bad again.

For many homes, that will mean using Descaler occasionally for the toughest projects and keeping the new Bathroom Cleaner in the bathroom for regular weekly cleaning.
